We had a wonderful concert on May 12, Mother’s Day! Everyone seemed to enjoy the music and we have received many, many favorable comments. Thanks to Diane Haslam’s guidance and support, we continue to improve and are looking ahead to even more of the same next season.
Here’s a link to a YouTube playlist of the full recording taken at the performance. Check out the concert page under the Music tab above to get links to the individual songs.

Join us for a fun filled evening at Trinity United Methodist Church, Aiken on Friday, December 7, 2018 starting at 7 pm. We’ll do a “Winter Serenade” of seasonal tunes plus a few in remembrance of the armistice ending World War I and Peal Harbor. As a special treat, the young boys, all-county choir “Bound To Sing” will help us celebrate the season.
A meet and greet reception will follow. And everything is FREE!

On March 5 we joined the Aiken Civic Orchestra’s concert for a short program. We did a couple of numbers on our own, then combined with the Belles Canto and the Augusta Chorus for a spirited “Let There Be Peace on Earth”. The room was packed to overflowing. Here are a few pictures:

Here’s a link to an article from the Aiken Standard, our hometown newspaper, announcing our fund raising concert. We have an endowed scholarship at the University of South Carolina Aiken. Each year a $1000 grant is awarded to an aspiring music student. We’re always ready to accept donations to this worthy cause.

On Sunday morning, January 29, 2017 we had our very first public appearance under the leadership of our new Music Director, Diane Haslam. We served as the choir for Trinity United Methodist Church’s Sunday morning service. Here’s some feedback from a happy camper:
“It was wonderful coming home to Trinity, and the South Boundary Singers were just plain excellent. Parts, pitch, dynamics, artistry were all there — a beautiful cohesive sound.”
Take a look and listen to how we did.

studio. She is very well known for her extensive experience organizing and leading vocal ensembles. We had a few informal, get acquainted rehearsals last Spring and are now in full rehearsal mode. Our plan is to spend the next several months working under Diane’s direction to add some new techniques and build a repertoire before performing in public. Look for our first live performance in January.

Our Board discussed, and agreed to change, our “South Boundary” name. We will now be known as the “South Boundary Singers”. The main motivation for doing so is to better reflect what we are all about – singing. Nothing else has changed – we are still a fun-loving group that enjoys singing together. We will continue to support our community’s boys choirs and the scholarship program we established at USC Aiken.
Our internet presence is also changing. Instead of southboundary.com we are now southboundarysingers.org. Please update your records as needed.

It was a sad day on November 24, 2015 when we lost our leader and friend, Bill Riehl. Bill passed away from complications following brain surgery. He was the co-founder of our ensemble and our music director. Bill’s legacy includes his extensive work organizing our boys choirs and establishing our endowed scholarship for music students at USC Aiken. We will miss him.
